This is YOUR badminton club so YOU need to help decide
how and what should be done - and to help do it.
It is at this meeting that decisions are made on; subscription fees for next year,
membership policies, the number of teams we enter into the leagues, and the positions of

Summer Badminton -- update
Although not certain, it looks likely that there will be a summer badminton club of some format, to be run on Tuesday nights at the Perse School. We are still sorting out details for this, and will post final details to this website in the next few weeks -- watch this space!
11 March 2002 -- Please note that the last clubnight this season will be Tuesday April 30th. There will be the club AGM after this date -- further information to follow.

13 December 2001 -- Please note a fixture for Cambridge Mens 1 -- away against Swavesey, on Saturday 9th March -- has been moved to Saturday 19th January.
7 December 2001 -- Please note the new fixture for Newmarket Mens A -- away against Risby, on Thursday 14th March. (See the list of away venues for information on match venue).
27 November 2001 -- There will be a club tournament on Tuesday 18th December -- details to be confirmed by the Club Captain.
Tuesday 18th December will be the last clubnight before Christmas -- the club closes for the Christmas and New Year break, re-opening on Tuesday 8th January, 2002.
26 November 2001 -- We are arranging another trip to the All England Badminton Championships, 2002. For details, see here.
12 November 2001 -- tickets are now on sale for the Commonwealth Games, 2002. You can apply for tickets (using a lottery system) via the internet (or by post) until 15th November -- after then, remaining tickets will be sold via a range of mechanisms.
Since there's a lottery system, there is a chance that you won't be successful in getting tickets. However, I believe that this is only likely for the very popular sports, and it appears that badminton isn't one of these. For example, I've been told that it's likely that the semi-finals day (Saturday, 3rd August, 2002) doesn't appear to be sold out. Also, I'm informed that you either get all the tickets you've applied for, or none -- ie, there's no risk of getting a partial allocation.

4 October 2001 -- correct to the fixture list in March: the ladies away match against St. Phillips is actually in April (already on the fixture list -- this had been put down twice).
1 September 2001 -- the end-of season tables (for season 2000-2001) are now available, in the Archive section. Also, the AGM minutes have now been made available here.
28th August 2001 -- By now you should have received the minutes from the recent AGM, which show that there was no successful appointment of a Treasurer. We are therefore looking for someone to take on this role.
If you'd like to be considered for this role, our would like to find out more about what the role entails (it only takes a few minutes a week), please contact Jenny Buttle, Club Secretary. Please remember that the club doesn't run itself -- a small group of people give of their time in running our club, and your help here would be greatly appreciated.
Don't forget that the new season starts on Tuesday 4th September, 7.30pm at our new venue of The Perse Upper School, Hills Road.
